Welcome to Air Australia.

Air Australia International commenced operation in 1992. The company has gone from strength to strength and is now Western Australia's largest privately owned flying school and the number one school at Jandakot Airport, Western Australia.

Charles "Chuck" McElwee, owner and managing director of Air Australia has brought to the company his extensive experience in aviation and management from the U.S. Navy where he flew fighter aircraft.


Our Chief Flying Instructor has a wide ranging background in aviation ranging from basic to advanced multi-engine aircraft training as well as charter operations. He currently heads a highly motivated team of pilots who cover all aspects of aviation.




Location

Air Australia is located at Jandakot Airport, which is approximately 15 minutes drive south of Perth. The airport is well known for the clear and uncongested skies that surround it and the close proximity to an excellent training area.

We here at Air Australia are dedicated to providing the best possible flying service to you, of any flying organisation in Western Australia. We believe that our commitment to service and professionalism is the driving force behind our success.


Training

Our main strength is our ability to design a programme to meet a customer's specific needs in both aircraft and instruction. We have provided the practical flight instruction for The International Aviation Programme used by The Technical and Further Education of Western Australia (TAFE). We even meet India's DGCA requirements.

Air Australia is approved by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (C.A.S.A.) to conduct flying training and is regularly inspected by C.A.S.A. to ensure the required standards are met.

Our enrollment now includes students from Africa, India, Hong Kong and Oman. We have provided training for students from the United Kingdom, the Netherlands,, Belgium, Singapore, Brunei, Japan, Canada,, Malta, ZimbabweGermany and the USA. All our cusomers heard about us through "Word of Mouth"and not conventional advertising.


So whether you wish to fly on a full-time or a part-time basis we can structure a training programme to suit you. It is this attention to client service that makes us stand out from the rest.

Other training courses offered include aerobatics, constant speed unit and retractable undercarriage endorsements, night ratings, instrument ratings, advanced handling courses, flight reviews, instructor ratings and twin-engine ratings.

Our fleet of aircraft is continually expanding to meet the changing needs of our clients. The company's fleet today consists of the following:

1 x ATC 610 Synthetic trainer

We can also cross hire a number of other aircraft as per requirements of our customers.


Safety

Air Australia is second to none in its operations. Since our beginning in 1992 our pilots have flown over 84,000 Flight Hours and 18,500,000 kms.
